Solar systems with backup power requires batteries. There are a lot of vendors, brands and types of batteries available. How do I choose the best battery for my application?

Types of Batteries, for our analysis of solar power applications, we will group batteries in 3 types

• Lead Acid batteries: Flooded batteries that need to be maintained
• Gel Batteries: Sealed lead acid batteries that do not have to be maintained. It includes AGM and Lead Crystal batteries
• Li-ion: Lithium Ion batteries similar to batteries used in cellphones. This include Tesla Wall and Blue Nova
